This is basically a Secret Cities record, but with 100% Marie songs. Released in 2018 but we're (finally) porting it over here in 2022.

A note from Charlie:

It's like the first record we three made together more than a decade ago (Pink Graffiti) in that we spent years making, unmaking, and remaking it. I think it's by far the strangest and prettiest thing we've done. There are lots of other things I could say -- about the huge changes in our lives this record spanned, about the way hearing these songs will forever transport me to the smelly basement in Queens where they were born -- but in the end I think the album stands apart from all that in its own weird little world.

Some reviews:

"To say that Moon Revenge’s sound inhabits a liminal space between classical and rock is tempting, and it’s headed in the right direction. The only problem is, after spending more time with their music, the traditional understanding of a musical spectrum in which classical and rock are far apart, or even opposites, starts to wobble and collapse. Indeed, the thing that most clearly sets Marie Parker’s newest project apart...is the group’s ability to so constantly and skillfully blur these historically hard-and-fast lines." – Karl Snyder, Frontrunner Magazine

"If Secret Cities was secretly a pop band, Moon Revenge is secretly a prog band. It’s not just the addition of a violin — the foundation of these songs feel quite different than anything they’ve done before. And that sense of wonder comes across in Phrases That Remain." - Tom Alexander, Earbuddy.net
